End of Year Book Haul!

Hello Hello! I’m sorry for not posting the day after Christmas but I just needed some time to chill with my family. I hope you all had a great Christmas and if you don’t celebrate the holiday then I hope you’re just enjoying the season. These are some of the books that I’ve bought recently and I just thought doing one more book tag before the year ended was a cool idea.

Horror Movies Book Tag

I found time to do another Halloween themed book tag!! I’ve just recently got over some form of a head cold that kept me from reading for about four or five days. Which sucks but I’m happy to be done with it! As you may have noticed, I don’t tend to tag people in my posts but if you’re interested in doing this tag, feel free to say that I tagged you cause in a way I guess I did. I’m tagging everyone who loves Halloween or anyone who loves watching horror movies!

Here are the rules:

  1. Please credit Princess Royal Reader (or just Royal Reader), as the creator of this tag, and add the rules
  2. You can use the graphics provided in your post, or you’re welcome to make your own!
  3. Thank the person(s) who tagged you and let others know of their fabulous blogs
  4. Tag as many people as you want, be it 1 or 20, it’s entirely up to you!

THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE: A BOOK YOU WOULD SAVE WHEN CIVILISATION ENDS?

There’s no way that I could pick one and so um I didn’t because I can change the rules right? I’d save either City of Bones by Cassandra Clare, Outlander by Diana Gabaldon or A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas.

THE VAMPIRE: A BOOK YOU WOULD STAKE THROUGH THE HEART?

36064161

Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving. I just can’t stand that book and it’s the most recent one that I’ve read that I’ve disliked, to be honest.

THE HAUNTED HOUSE: A BOOK THAT STILL HAUNTS YOU?

I honestly cannot think of anything that would fit this category. I can’t really think of any book that continues to haunt me and that’s a little upsetting.

THE PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER: A BOOK WITH A TWIST YOU DID NOT SEE COMING?

33784373

Okay, so I honestly didn’t see the killer coming in Hunting Prince Dracula by Keri Maniscalco. It took me by surprise and was one of the things I loved most about it.

THE CREEPY DOLL: A BOOK THAT SEEMS INNOCENT BUT ISN’T?

Lovely_Bones_cover

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold was a book and movie that seemed innocent but definitely wasn’t innocent at all.

THE MONSTER: A BOOK YOU COULD BARELY TACKLE/DEFEAT?

81Wpb2d1C+L

Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte was a book that I wouldn’t have been able to finish if I hadn’t had the audio version of it along with the print copy. There are other books that I struggled to get through because I was in a slump but that is the one that came to mind at the moment.

THE COMEDY-HORROR: A BOOK WITH MIXED GENRES THAT WORKED (OR DIDN’T)?

15797848

There’s Someone Inside Your House by Stephine Perkins was a romantic horror and the two genres didn’t really work well together. I go into more detail in my review, which just so happened to go up a few days ago.

THE (CLICHED) TEEN HORROR: A BOOK YOU FOUND SUPER CLICHED/STEREOTYPICAL?

23281646

The Merciless by Danielle Vega was a little cliche but it wasn’t the worst book in the world.

THE DEMONIC POSSESSION: A BOOK SO GRIPPING YOU NEEDED AN EXORCIST TO ESCAPE IT?

28962906

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco was such an amazing book (so was the second one) and as of right now, it is the one that comes to mind first when thinking of books that wouldn’t let me stop reading them.

THE SCIENCE FICTION: A PRECIOUS BOOK YOU WOULD PERMANENTLY SACRIFICE TO ALIENS FOR THE GOOD OF MANKIND?

51ze2a3zs0l-_sx329_bo1204203200_

Oh crap, what. That’s not cool. I don’t think I like people that much lol. But I guess that would have to be my copy of Goodbye Days by Jeff Zentner because I love it so much.

August and September Book Haul

I bought some books!! Some of these were bought in preparation for a book festival and others were just bought because I love new books. I thought it was nice to post something other than a review or book tag and I’ve thought about doing these more often but I don’t buy as many books right now.

I Have No Self Control: Book Haul!

So I haven’t ordered from book outlet in a while so I decided why not order some of the books I’ve been waiting to read as a reward for my AP exams. Even though I haven’t done any of the exams yet. Whoops.

I do include the list prices and the amount book outlet sold each copy for because I like to see what deals there are when I read or watch a book outlet haul. If this bothers you I am sorry but you can just look at the pictures and skip the text below each cover.  Continue reading “I Have No Self Control: Book Haul!”
