Let’s talk about A Court of Thorns and Roses

So if you couldn’t tell, or you’re new to my blog, I love the Court of Thorns and Roses series. To death. I consider it my favorite new adult series and I just really like talking about it. Like, if I could talk about this book all day, I probably would.

The first time I ever really fell in love with a series like this was with the Tigers Curse series by Colleen Hooke. Then, after being introduced to YA books, I fell in love with the Mortal Instruments series, and I still love it. I think the TMI series will always have a special place in my heart because I have so many memories with it. It’s weird to think that a series can change you but it really did change the way I saw reading.

Now, back to ACOTAR because that’s what you are all here for. I hope.

So, I don’t actually love love love the first book in this series. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great 5 star book but I definitely prefer the other two books. It’s to the point where I will pick them both up, sit in bed, and flip to the scenes that I’ve marked just so that I can go back into the world. This happened a few days ago and I basically ended up reading half of each book because I got sucked back into the story.

I just can’t get enough of this series because it is everywhere I look. I mean, that’s kind of what I wanted when I followed so many accounts that only post stuff about ACOTAR. I follow accounts on Tumblr, Instagram, and Twitter and it is one of the best things that I’ve done. I love reading the discussions between fans and just readings AU’s (alternate universes) where the characters are just living.

These books are also gorgeous to look at! Like, have you seen the design on them? They’re just so pretty and I love looking at them before I finally open them up to reimmerse myself into the wonderful world of Feyre and Rhysand. I can’t get enough of their world and every so often I just have the urge to go back into their world. They’ve become something special to me and I really love them. I honestly can’t wait until the next book (or novella) comes out because it’s going to be so amazing!

I know this isn’t the longest post, or the most informative but I just wanted to talk about something I love. If any of you feel like discussing (or fangirling) about this series, definitely comment because I absolutely love talking about ACOTAR.

  1. i didn’t love the first book in the series either – though i too enjoyed it a lot. or maybe it’d be more accurate if i said that i didn’t like the first book as much as i liked the second book. and i enjoyed the second more than the third. the third was reeeeaaally good, but i felt like it was incomplete. for example, what about Fayer’s sisters?and what’s his name? the spring lord? he should’ve found someone else, especialy after he turned out to be the good guy. it was one of my all time favorite trilogy, but the third book – or actually no, there should’ve been a fourth one. yeah, the war should have happened on a fourth book so that these ‘incomplete’ parts could have gotten an ending.

    1. There actually is going to be a sort of fourth book! It’s going to wrap everything up with the ACOTAR characters and it’s going to include the wedding between Feyre and Rhysand!! That being said, I definitely agree that the second book was the best and it was my absolute favorite.
